Thuy Nguyen has two licenses to practice psychotherapy in Texas: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). She is an active member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT), a national professional organization. She is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, as well as Approved Supervisor by the Texas Board of Examiners for LPC and LMFT.

Thuy Nguyen has been in private practice since mid-1998, providing family/couple, individual, and group therapy services. She works with clients of diverse ethnicities, ages, and genders. Her therapeutic approach is solution and goal-focused, family therapy-based, and client-centered.

As a native of Vietnam, who came to the U.S. during her early teens, Thuy Nguyen can conduct therapy fluently in English and Vietnamese. Her cultural background has helped Thuy understand and become effective in working through acculturation and generation gap issues in families. Being a working parent, who chose a career transition from Computer Science to Behavioral Science, Thuy is empathic with life-work balancing issues, such as stress/time management, parent-child relationship, marital relationship, and career satisfaction.
